Day 1:  Hanoi Arrival (D)

 Upon arrival at Hanoi’s International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Hanoi, Vietnam’s capital is a unique city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples. You will have the rest of the day to unwind after your journey and explore your surrounds at leisure.


Day 2: Hanoi Experience (B/L/D)

Begin your exploration at the Temple of Literature and its shrine for Confucian worship. Founded in the year 1070 AD, it is famous for being Vietnam’s first university. Then visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his house on stilts. From here it is not far to explore the lotus-like One Pillar Pagoda – lying on a single stone pillar emerging from the water. Inside is a statue of the Goddess of Mercy with her legendary “thousand arms and thousand eyes”. Wind your way afterwards through Ngoc Ha village to see B52-lake (Huu Tiep Lake) where the wreckage of a bomber downed in 1972 still remains in the water. In the afternoon you might visit one Mosque at No 12 Hang Luoc Street – in Hanoi Old Quarter, where most Muslim foreigners come and see.


 Day 3: Hanoi / Ninh Binh (B/L/D)

After breakfast you will set off on the two-hour drive to Ninh Binh province. Begin your exploration with visit the temple of the Dinh King and Le King who were the founders of Hoa Lu as the citadel. Next, you will be rowed along a gentle river and through the caves. This area is known as ‘Halong Bay on land’. The scenery is utterly stunning. After lunch, you will visit Bich Dong temple, climb a little bit till you get to the top of the upper pagoda and your eyes catch the overall panorama of the paddy fields between Truong Yen Mountain. Your bus will then transfer you to your hotel for a peaceful relaxation.


Day 4: Ninh Binh / Cruise the Legendary Halong Bay (Seat in coach) (B/L/D)

At 08:00 you will meet your guide and driver and depart on an enjoyable 4-hour drive to Halong City. Along the way you will stop to visit a craft center and ceramic workshop. During the journey, enjoy Vietnam’s interesting countryside of rice fields, water buffaloes, hard-working peasants and quaint villages. On arrival in Halong City, you will board your boat for a four-hour cruise through Halong Bay’s amazing limestone formations.


Visit the newly discovered Thien Cung Cave (Grotto of Heaven Palace), which is well known for its stalagmites and stalactites. You will also visit Dau Go Cave (Grotto of the Wooden Stakes) where in the year 1288, hundreds of stakes were hidden deep inside the cave by Tran Hung Dao, one of Vietnam’s most famous Generals, prior to a battle with an invading Mongolian army.

Enjoy a seafood lunch while cruising through the Bay where you pass by some of the most amazing rock formations including Dog, Dinh Huong and Sail islands. You will also see first-hand the many floating fishing villages in the Bay. Cruise back to Halong City where your car will be waiting to take you back to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi at approximately 19:00.



 Day 5: Depart Hanoi (B)

The morning is at your leisure, you may like to take a short walk on your own through the Old Quarter for that last minute shopping. The Old Quarter has an amazing display of crafts, silks, lacquer ware, lanterns and much more. Later, we transport you to the airport in time for your flight.
